EU transfers €3.3bn to Ukraine for arms procurement

The European Commission has disbursed 3.3 billion euros ($3.68 billion) to Ukraine to finance weapons purchases as part of the European Union's broader 90-billion-euro loan mechanism.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the tranche will specifically fund the procurement of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and missiles. Von der Leyen reaffirmed that Europe will maintain essential military support to enable Ukraine to defend its population and territory.
