Azerbaijan produced 3.6 million tons of oil in January, down from 3.8 million tons a year earlier, according to the State Statistics Committee.
The country pumped 1.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas during the period, up from 1.5 billion cubic meters a year earlier, the committee said on its website.
Nearly 80 percent of the total crude output was provided by the offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block offields being developed by a BP-led consortium.
ACG last year cut production to 32.2 million tons from 32.9 million tons.
