ANAMA chairman meets GICHD director in Baku

Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), Vugar Suleymanov, has met with Ambassador Tobias Privitelli, Director of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD).

ANAMA said the meeting included a detailed briefing on Azerbaijan’s landmine problem, efforts to address it, and the agency’s ongoing operations.

Discussions also covered the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year between ANAMA and GICHD to support mine action activities in Azerbaijan.

The parties exchanged views on cooperation in areas such as experience and training exchange, information management, innovative approaches, capacity building and potential joint projects.

Switzerland’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Thomas Stähli, also attended the meeting.
