Azerbaijan thwarts attempt to smuggle large quantity of narcotics from Iran into the country
An attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substances into the country has been prevented, citing the Press Center of the State Border Service.
According to the report, as a result of border search and operational measures carried out within the area of responsibility of the Lankaran Border Detachment of the Border Troops Command, the smuggling of a total of 32 kilograms and 365 grams of narcotic substances (27 kilograms and 65 grams of marijuana and 5 kilograms and 300 grams of heroin), as well as 7,200 Methadone M-40 psychotropic tablets, from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented.
Operational and investigative measures are ongoing in connection with the case.
