Appeal hearing set for Azerbaijani TikToker “Arzum 9999”
The Baku Court of Appeal is set to hear an appeal filed by Azerbaijani TikToker Ilduza Hajiyeva, known online as “Arzum 9999”, against her conviction over a fatal road accident.
The appeal has been assigned to Judge Elnur Nuriyev, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 22.
Hajiyeva was previously sentenced by the Khazar District Court to five years and two months in prison and banned from driving for two years and six months. She was taken into custody in the courtroom after the verdict.
According to investigators, the crash occurred in June last year in Baku’s Mardakan settlement, leaving one person dead and another seriously injured. Hajiyeva was convicted of violating traffic rules resulting in death and leaving the scene of the accident.
