Smuggling of large quantity of drugs from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and combat smuggling and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors are being successfully continued.

It was reported that on September 11, as a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service, a large quantity of narcotic drugs was discovered.

Thus, at 03:11, narcotic drugs with a total weight of 65 kilograms and 500 grams, which were dropped by paraglider from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan in the service area of the border detachment, were discovered and removed from illegal circulation.

Operational and investigative measures regarding the fact are ongoing.
