Number of registered diabetes patients in Azerbaijan rises 1.3%

The number of patients with diabetes registered at medical institutions in Azerbaijan rose 1.3% in 2025 from the previous year to 344,577, the State Statistics Committee said.

The figure stood at 340,205 in 2024.

The increase was mainly driven by patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes, whose number rose 1.4% to 317,251 from 313,005.

The number of patients with insulin-dependent diabetes increased to 27,326 from 27,200.

The number of registered cases per 100,000 population rose to 3,357.7 from 3,327.2.

At the same time, the number of newly diagnosed diabetes cases declined. A total of 25,356 new cases were recorded in 2025, down 3.9% from 26,385 cases in 2024.
