Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR produced 1.672 million tonnes of oil and 1.85 billion cubic metres of gas in the first quarter of 2026 at fields it develops independently and through joint ventures and partnerships.

Total crude oil production in Azerbaijan amounted to 6.628 million tonnes in January-March, while national gas output rose by 0.4% to 12.64 billion cubic metres, SOCAR said.

SOCAR’s oil exports to foreign markets totalled 3.52 million tonnes in the reporting period. The figure includes oil produced by the company itself, as well as the state’s and SOCAR’s profit oil shares from international consortia operating in Azerbaijan.

Natural gas consumption in Azerbaijan stood at 4.76 billion cubic metres in the first quarter, while gas exports increased by 6.9% to 6.5 billion cubic metres.

SOCAR processed 1.45 million tonnes of oil and 636 million cubic metres of gas in January-March. Oil refining rose by 3.7% compared with the same period last year.

More than 394,000 tonnes of oil, petrochemical and gas-chemical products produced at SOCAR’s facilities in Azerbaijan were exported to foreign markets during the period.

SOCAR said 12,704 metres were drilled in the first quarter.
