Azerbaijan transports 12.7 million tonnes of oil via BTC in January-May

Azerbaijan transported 12.702 million tonnes of oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) export pipeline in January-May 2026.

The State Statistics Committee said this accounted for 76.9% of total oil transported through the country’s main pipelines.

Of the oil shipped via BTC, 82.3%, or 10.454 million tonnes, was produced in Azerbaijan, while 17.7%, or 2.248 million tonnes, came from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

A total of 20.792 billion cubic metres of gas was transported through main gas pipelines during the period, up 2.6% from a year earlier.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus Pipeline carried 11.442 billion cubic metres, or 55% of total gas transportation.

In January-May, transport corridors carried 6.160 million tonnes of freight by rail, 2.653 million tonnes by sea and 4.731 million tonnes by road.
