Bitcoin Price Drops Below $58K Amid Global Market Correction
04.08.2026 11:00

Bitcoin (BTC) slid to start the trading week, falling below the pivotal $58,000 baseline as broader macroeconomic headwinds and reduced risk appetite weighted on digital assets.

Market data from CoinMarketCap and CoinDesk show Bitcoin down 2.4% over the past 24 hours, trading near $57,450. Intraday price action saw the benchmark token fluctuate between a high of $58,900 and a low of $56,800, bringing total cryptocurrency market capitalization down to $2.1 trillion.

The downward pressure reflects slowing inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs alongside broader consolidation across global equity markets. Institutional investors have taken a cautious stance, locking in gains while evaluating monetary policy signals from major central banks, leaving digital currencies vulnerable to short-term liquidity contractions.
