bp begins 11-day planned maintenance on Central Azeri platform in Caspian
bp, as operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field development in the Caspian Sea, has commenced planned preventive maintenance on the Central Azeri platform in accordance with its 2026 annual operational program.
The offshore maintenance program is scheduled to run for 11 days. During this window, production on the platform will be temporarily curtailed rather than completely shut down. Due to the interconnected facility layout of the Azeri field, operations will also temporarily affect production rates at the East Azeri and West Azeri platforms.
The scope of work encompasses asset integrity inspections, flare system upgrades, and activities under the Central Azeri Gas Expansion (CAGE) project aimed at enhancing gas reinjection capacity to maximize well deliverability.
According to bp, the temporary production impact was fully factored into the 2026 production forecast and approved budgets. Other ACG offshore platforms, Shah Deniz facilities, and the Sangachal onshore terminal continue normal operations.
