BP completes scheduled maintenance on Central Azeri platform ahead of schedule
BP, as operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field development project, announced that the planned turnaround (TAR) program on the Central Azeri platform has been successfully completed ahead of schedule.
The maintenance program, which commenced on August 19 as part of ACG's annual work plan, was completed safely across all planned work scopes within an 11-day window. The gradual ramp-up of oil production is currently underway.
The scope of work included critical integrity and maintenance activities, flare system modifications, reliability enhancement initiatives, and anomaly remediation. In addition, routine activities associated with the Central Azeri Gas Expansion (CAGE) project—designed to increase reservoir gas reinjection capacity and maximize recovery from existing wells—were carried out.
BP noted that such preventive turnaround programs are an integral part of standard upstream operations and are conducted regularly across its operated offshore platforms and onshore facilities in the Caspian region.
