Gold prices advanced on Thursday, August 27, supported by safe-haven demand amid a softer US dollar, while investors positioned ahead of a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh.

Spot gold rose 0.6% to $4,618.93 per troy ounce as of 04:37 GMT. US gold futures gained 0.4%, trading at $4,673.60 per ounce.

The upward movement comes after bullion retreated more than 1% in the preceding session due to data indicating stubborn US inflation pressures. Market attention has now turned to Warsh's scheduled remarks at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, which are expected to offer critical insights into the Fed's monetary policy trajectory.
