Azeri paper dismisses top official's criticism of Western financial institutions
09.06.2016 09:06
Azerbaijan's major opposition newspaper Azadliq has dismissed the criticism of Western financial institutions by the head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev.

According to the report, the Azerbaijani government itself did so much damage to the national economy that there is no need to fear anything from organisations like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. The report also said that since the leading official newspapers published Mehdiyev's article, it cannot be taken as a sign of a contradiction within the government. The following is the text of Akif's report by Azerbaijani opposition newspaper Azadliq on 6 June headlined "The 'dragon' that Mehdiyev wishes to show us. Does anything remain sound in Azerbaijan for us to fear its destruction by Western institutions?"; subheadings inserted editorially:

The article entitled "Strong Azerbaijan as the manifestation of a national idea in conditions of globalisation" authored by the head of the Presidential Administration, Ramiz Mehdiyev, is still a topic of discussion. In previous reports, we offered some commentary with regard to this article.
