Giorgi Zakarashvili appointed Georgia's new ambassador to Azerbaijan

Giorgi Zakarashvili has been appointed Georgia's new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan, the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced. 

A career diplomat, Zakarashvili previously served as Georgia's Ambassador to Ukraine, Permanent Representative to the GUAM organization, and Director of the Political Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In his new post in Baku, he will oversee bilateral diplomatic engagements and the continued development of strategic partnership ties between the two neighboring states.
