UAE nationals are now exempt of entry visa requirements for Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a memorandum about the visa waiver resolution for Emiratis, said Ahmed Al Dhaheri, acting under-secretary for consular affairs at the ministry, according to the state news agency, Wam.

UAE nationals can obtain a 30-day visa on arrival at international airports in Azerbaijan for US$50 (Dh184).

Mr Al Dhaheri said the visa waiver resolution underscored the countries’ growing ties.

In April, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, visited Baku in Azerbaijan to meet its president, Ilham Aliyev. The talks from his visit resulted in economic and emergency readiness agreements between the two countries.
