42 peacekeeping Azerbaijani troops depart on mission to Afghanistan

A group of 42 Azerbaijani military personnel including 38 soldiers, 2 medical and 2 sapper officers left for Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in accordance with the plan and rotation for serving within NATO-led "Resolute Support" mission launched in Afghanistan from January, 2015. 

The peacekeeping contingent of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been served under the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan since November 20, 2002.
Currently, a group of 90 servicemen, 2 medical and 2 sapper officers is participating in a peace-building mission in Afghanistan.
