Putin jokes by calling himself ‘CIA director’

Russian President Vladimir Putin joked about being a “CIA director” during a plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

“I saw it as a CIA director… as a future director, future!” Putin said, drawing laughter from the audience.

He added that the remark referred to a past experience when, during meetings with U.S. President George Bush, he was shown secret documents in the presence of the CIA director.

Putin described the episode as a humorous moment connected to his interactions with the American side.
