Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (AXCP) chairman Ali Karimli’s appeal has been rejected, party deputy chairman Seymour Hazi said.

The Baku Court of Appeal upheld the Sabail District Court’s ruling ordering Karimli’s pretrial detention for 2 months and 15 days.

Karimli is charged under Article 278.1 of the Criminal Code — actions aimed at violently seizing power or forcibly changing the constitutional order.

A day earlier, the State Security Service searched Karimli’s home and seized various documents and materials.
