Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov has completed the takeover of English second-division club Sheffield Wednesday.

Mamadov, who also owns FC Baku in Azerbaijan and RC Lens in France, is the founder and chairman of the Baghlan Group, which specializes in oil, gas, construction and transportation.

The businessman agreed on a deal with former owner Milan Mandaric, who handed over control 3 1/2 years after he purchased the club.

The club said the deal was still subject to ratification by the Football League. It finished 16th in the Championship last season.
