Lotfi Zadeh: Azerbaijan has bright future with Aliyev
05.06.2014 17:30

Lotfi A. Zadeh, a prominent ethnic Azeri mathematician and computer scientist at the University of California who founded fuzzy mathematics, fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic, has praised Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev as a wise leader steering the country on the “right path”.

“I believe Azerbaijan is on the right path for two reasons,” Lotfi Zadeh said in an interview with Azerbaijan’s state news agency Azartac. “The first reason is the development of the oil and gas industries, and the second reason is Azerbaijan’s leadership. President Ilham Aliyev is very a well-educated and wise man. His heart is beating with Azerbaijan’s interests.”

Aliyev is an enthusiastic and far-sighted leader full of energy, Lotfi Zadeh said.

“Therefore, a leader with such characteristics guarantees a bright future for Azerbaijan.”

Lotfi Zadeh said Azerbaijan should think about its “post-oil” period when the country will run out of its crude resources.

“I know that Azerbaijan’s government is already thinking about that,” he said.
