Simonyan: Baku and Yerevan Agree on New Peace Mechanisms

Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to implement new mechanisms and deepen direct dialogue to resolve pending issues within the peace process, Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan stated.

Simonyan told reporters that consolidating the peace agenda remained the central focus of discussions. "I see that all currently feasible steps toward peace will be taken and are being taken by the Azerbaijani side," he noted. The talks also addressed sensitive matters regarding detainees and missing persons, with both sides recognizing the need to prepare their respective publics for peace through expanded reciprocal visits and delegation contacts.

While not ruling out a prospective visit to Azerbaijan in the future, Simonyan added that another bilateral meeting is slated for September, though an exact date has not yet been finalized.
