Israel Hayom says Iran agreed to hand over an enriched uranium stockpile, but Tehran denies it

Iran has agreed to transfer its stockpile of enriched uranium, although it remains unclear who would receive it, Israel Hayom reported, citing three U.S. and regional diplomatic sources.

According to the report, possible recipients included Russia, the International Atomic Energy Agency, or the United States. The newspaper also said Washington wanted to take part in an operation to locate the enriched uranium, but Tehran was willing to allow only IAEA personnel to do so.

Iran has publicly denied any agreement to send its uranium abroad. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Tehran had not agreed to transfer its stockpile to the United States, and Reuters reported on April 17 that Iran had firmly denied such an arrangement.
