Xi says Strait of Hormuz must remain open

Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a phone call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that the Strait of Hormuz should remain open to normal maritime traffic, saying this served the common interests of countries in the region and the international community, state news agency Xinhua reported.

Xi also called for an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire and said Middle East conflicts should be resolved through political and diplomatic means.
