Ukraine says leave has been cancelled in some Russian military units
Ukraine’s southern defence forces said leave had been cancelled in some Russian military units until May 9, citing intelligence.
Spokesman Vladyslav Voloshyn said the measures affected, among others, units of Russia’s 19th motorised rifle division.
He said the decision could be linked to expectations of possible Ukrainian offensive actions and the risk of a frontline breakthrough.
Voloshyn added that the move could indicate both defensive preparations and a possible build-up for increased combat activity.
