Pakistan opens land corridors for Iranian cargo
Pakistan has provided Iran with six land corridors to allow cargo transit bypassing the Strait of Hormuz, the country’s commerce ministry said.
Dawn reported that more than 3,000 containers bound for Iran had accumulated at Karachi port and that their movement had already begun.
Pakistan also plans to use Gwadar port on the Arabian Sea, around 70 km from the Iranian border, as a major transit and logistics hub for Iranian cargo.
