Lavrov says West is trying to pull Armenia into its orbit
Relations between Moscow and Yerevan remain difficult amid Western attempts to increase influence over Armenia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
Lavrov said the European Union was trying to pull Armenia into its orbit, which could put Yerevan at risk of losing benefits within the Eurasian Economic Union.
He added that Armenia’s relations with the West could be discussed at the EAEU summit in May.
“There will be an opportunity to discuss Western attempts to pull Armenia into its orbit,” Lavrov told reporters.
