he U.S. Navy has intercepted 127 commercial vessels bound for or departing from Iranian ports since the introduction of a maritime blockade of Iran, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

According to CENTCOM, U.S. forces redirected 127 commercial vessels, disabled six vessels that failed to comply with the rules, and allowed 36 humanitarian aid vessels to proceed.

CENTCOM said the blockade is being enforced by thousands of U.S. military personnel operating at sea, in the air and on land.

The command said the restrictions apply to vessels of all countries sailing to or from Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
