Media report explosions in southern Iran

Iranian media have reported a series of explosions in the country’s south.

According to the reports, explosions were heard in the port city of Bandar Abbas as well as in Qeshm, Minab and Sirik near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian military and law enforcement authorities had not commented on the cause of the incidents at the time of publication, and there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

The reports come amid heightened regional tensions and recent military activity around the Strait of Hormuz.
