More than 260 flights disrupted after drone attack on Moscow
More than 260 flights were delayed or cancelled at Moscow-area airports following a large-scale drone attack, Russian media reported.
Temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures were imposed at Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky airports. Russia’s Aeroflot advised passengers on cancelled flights not to travel to airports and instead arrange refunds or ticket changes remotely.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defence units destroyed 14 more drones heading toward the capital overnight and in the morning. The total number of drones intercepted on approach to Moscow reached 194.
In the town of Zhukovsky outside Moscow, debris from one drone damaged an apartment building on Gagarin Street. Local authorities said there were no casualties and residents were evacuated.
Debris from another drone fell on the grounds of the Sadovod shopping complex, where emergency services are continuing their work.
