Iran demands Trump apology before resuming talks

Iran’s delegation has demanded that U.S. President Donald Trump apologise for his threats and that Israeli troops withdraw from Lebanon before negotiations can resume, Al Mayadeen television reported.

According to the broadcaster, the Iranian side will not return to the negotiating table unless those conditions are met.

Hossein Ghorbanzadeh, a member of Iran’s negotiating team, told Iranian state television that talks would remain suspended until the conflict in Lebanon ends.

“If the war in Lebanon does not end, negotiations will not continue,” he said.

Trump earlier said on Truth Social that the United States would launch a “very strong strike” against Iran if Tehran did not stop funding Lebanon’s Hezbollah movement. In an interview with Fox News, he also demanded that Iran keep the Strait of Hormuz open and warned of consequences if it were closed.
