Wizz Air to launch direct Baku-Bratislava flights

Wizz Air will launch direct flights on the Baku-Bratislava-Baku route from Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The route was identified as a promising destination following a working meeting between AZAL’s management and Wizz Air. The issue was discussed during a meeting between AZAL President Samir Rzayev and Slovakia’s ambassador to Azerbaijan, Elchin Gasimov. 

The sides discussed developing aviation ties between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, creating new travel opportunities for passengers and improving transport connectivity between the two countries.

Rzayev said the launch of the Baku-Bratislava route would contribute to tourism, business and humanitarian ties, while offering passengers a wider choice of destinations.

The Slovak ambassador said Bratislava was interested in launching direct air service and noted that more than 5,000 Azerbaijani citizens currently live in Slovakia.
