Moldovan prime minister resigns
Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu said he was stepping down.
Munteanu announced the decision in a post on X, saying he had chosen to resign after realizing that he could no longer carry out his mandate in line with his principles and convictions. He did not give specific reasons for the move.
Munteanu was appointed prime minister in October 2025 after parliamentary elections in which the ruling pro-European PAS party won a new mandate to continue Moldova’s push to join the European Union.
