Azerbaijan expects direct Baku-Bratislava flights to launch soon, economy minister says
Azerbaijan expects direct flights between Baku and Bratislava to be launched soon, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said.
Speaking at the Azerbaijan-Slovakia Business Forum in Baku, Jabbarov said the new air link would help boost business ties and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
He said Azerbaijan was positioning itself as a regional transport and logistics hub linking Central Asia, the South Caucasus, Turkey and Europe.
Jabbarov said the country offered foreign investors risk-sharing mechanisms, joint investment funds and tax incentives, while inviting Slovak companies to invest in mining, metallurgy, digital technologies, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and tourism.
He added that the Alat Free Economic Zone remained Azerbaijan’s flagship industrial platform, offering tax and customs incentives and serving as a key hub along the Middle Corridor trade route.
