Drone attacks halt operations at Wildberries warehouses near St Petersburg and in Crimea

Several Russian regions and Russian-annexed Crimea came under drone attack overnight, triggering fires and disrupting operations at warehouses operated by online retailer Wildberries.

Wildberries said its logistics complexes in Shushary and Utkina Zavod near St Petersburg had temporarily suspended operations. Three people were injured after a drone struck a warehouse in Novosaratovka in the Leningrad region, Governor Alexander Drozdenko said.

The company also said personnel had been evacuated from its sorting centre in Simferopol following an attack.

Videos posted online appeared to show explosions and a fire in the Russian city of Tver, but reports that another Wildberries warehouse had been hit there could not immediately be verified.

The latest incidents follow a series of drone strikes on Wildberries facilities in Russia. Reuters reported earlier that recent attacks had damaged about 10% of the retailer’s logistics capacity.
