Indian vessel sinks off Oman coast following projectile strike
An Indian mechanized sailing vessel, the Faize Noore Oliya, has sunk off the coast of Oman after being struck by a projectile, according to India’s Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.
All 14 crew members on board were successfully rescued. The Yemen Coast Guard safely transported the crew to the port of Mokha.
"India strongly condemns this unprovoked attack on an undefended mechanized sailing vessel," Sonowal stated.
Details regarding the origin of the projectile launch have not yet been disclosed.
