Masoud Pezeshkian highlights Azerbaijan's key support to Iran during war
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the significant improvement in Tehran’s relations with neighboring countries, placing special focus on bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan.
According to Pezeshkian, despite previous closures of transit routes and the suspension of an Iranian bank's operations in Baku, direct dialogue successfully resolved the issues: "We called and spoke with them. After a two-hour conversation, everything was reopened. The bank, the embassy, and the routes started working again".
The Iranian president expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s assistance during the war: "During the war, they helped us significantly along various routes—whether with supplies from Russia or their own. They accompanied and assisted us in everything that was necessary".
Pezeshkian also praised Iran's cooperation with Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Iraq, noting that Afghanistan and Pakistan actively prevented terrorists and separatists from entering Iranian territory.
