Russia to extradite wanted serviceman to Azerbaijan — Prosecutor General's Office
The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation has granted an extradition request submitted by Azerbaijani authorities regarding Azerbaijani citizen Nahid Rasim oglu Alijanly, the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan announced.
The extradition order was approved in accordance with the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters dated October 7, 2002.
According to investigators, Alijanly is indicted in a criminal case handled by the Gubadli Military Prosecutor's Office. He is charged under Article 333.4-1 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (unauthorized abandonment of a military unit or place of service for a period exceeding three months). Following his flight from justice abroad, he was placed on the international wanted list.
The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan is currently executing the necessary international procedural steps to effect his transfer back to the country.
