Trump hardens stance against Middle East allies amid impasse in Iran conflict, WP reports
US President Donald Trump has sharpened his rhetoric toward Washington's Middle Eastern allies in recent days as the military campaign against Tehran remains in a strategic deadlock, The Washington Post reported, citing policy experts.
According to analysts, the administration's frustration stems from the inability to secure a swift breakthrough against Iran. Nearly six months after launching joint military strikes alongside Israel, Washington has yet to extract core concessions from Tehran, particularly regarding unhindered navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Constrained by depleted munitions stockpiles, the White House has largely refrained from initiating broader conventional military operations, relying instead on tightening economic pressure. However, expanded financial sanctions have so far failed to alter the Iranian leadership's strategic stance, the paper noted.
