Pashinyan welcomes potential expulsion of Armenia from CSTO

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told parliament on Monday that he would welcome a formal decision to expel Armenia from the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), stating that Yerevan has no intention of reviving its active membership over the next five years.

Presenting the cabinet's strategic governance program for 2026–2031, Pashinyan noted: "I know that discussions are underway within the CSTO, and the charter indeed provides for the expulsion of a member state. I would be very pleased if the organization decides to expel the Republic of Armenia from the CSTO. At the very least, it would relieve us of the dilemma of whether to withdraw or remain."
