Moscow Targeted by Nearly 8,700 Drones in a Month, Mayor Sobyanin Says

A total of 8,670 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were launched toward the Moscow region between August 1 and September 1, according to Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

Sobyanin stated that the vast majority of the drones were intercepted and neutralized by air defense systems on distant approaches to the capital. However, 795 drones were destroyed in direct proximity to Moscow.
