Netanyahu Urges Renewed Campaign Against Iran, Trump Stalls Until Midterms
21.10.2026 18:00

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing to resume full-scale military operations against Iran to "finish what was started," the Financial Times reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. However, U.S. President Donald Trump has signaled to the Israeli leadership that Washington opposes escalating the conflict ahead of the U.S. congressional midterm elections on November 3.

According to the report, the deliberation over renewed hostilities may also function as a tactical maneuver designed to intensify diplomatic and military pressure on Tehran to extract concessions from Iranian authorities.
