Police investigate cocaine scandal at major club in England

The Observer revealed on Sunday that senior members of staff at the club – which cannot be named for legal reasons – suspected some of their colleagues were using class-A drugs inside the stadium.

It is alleged that two officials were discovered snorting cocaine in the boardroom of a rival club during an away match – and that the scandal involves at least one high-profile figure in the game. A prominent club member also noticed white powder on the clothing of a colleague at a home match.According to the report, people at the club concerned believe the problem is more widespread than an isolated incident."The police have been informed, as have the relevant league, so it is now a matter for the police to find out if there is a case to answer,” said a source at the club.In 2003, former Premier League goalkeeper Mark Bosnich received a nine-month ban after testing positive for cocaine and, a year later, Chelsea sacked striker Adrian Mutu for using the drug.(uk.eurosport.yahoo.com)BakuDaily.Az
