NEWARK kickboxer Chad '2 Slick' Sugden will fight Alim Nabiev on the main card of the K-1 World Max Final Four event in Azerbaijan, it has been announced.

Sugden takes on the Ukrainian W5 World champion in a 72kg Super Fight at the event on February 23 and is confident he will beat his opponent in front of a world-wide audience.

"This is a massive event. I'm looking forward to being part of it and showing just what I am capable of," said Sugden, the only Brit signed by the international K-1 Global brand.

"With each fight, I'm getting closer to my goal of being the best, not just in the UK but in the world. Things are moving pretty quickly now and all I can say is, bring it on!"

The fight comes just six weeks after Sugden's last big win, when he defeated Jorge Falcon with a first round KO at the K-1 World Max Final Eight in Gran Canaria.

"After watching Chad in action last month, the Azerbaijan promoters insisted he was on the bill for this one and they have gone out of their way to find him the toughest opponent they could," added Dean Sugden, head coach of Suggy's Gym in Newark.

The event will be streamed live via www.epicentre.tv.
