Azerbaijan boosts gas exports last year

Azerbaijan exported 8.6 billion cubic metres of natural gas last year, an increase of 17.4 percent from 2013, the State Customs Committee said.
The State Oil Company (SOCAR) exports gas to Russia, Iran and Georgia. A BP-led group developing the Shah Deniz field in Azerbaijan's section of the Caspian Sea exports gas via the South Caucasus Pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
Production of marketable natural gas rose 4.5 percent 18.7 bcm, the State Statistics Committee said.
