SOCAR pumps more crude oil, natural gas last year

Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR said it produced more crude oil and natural gas last year.

Oil production rose to 8.4 million tons from 8.3 million tons in 2013, the company said on its website.

Gas output grew to 7.2 billion cubic meters from 7.1 billion cubic meters.

Azerbaijan’s total oil production declined 2.8% last year to 41.9 million tons.

Production of marketable natural gas grew to 18.7 billion cubic meters from 17.9 billion cubic meters, according to the State Statistics Committee.
