Italian senators on Khojaly genocide

The head of parliamentary friendship group Azerbaijan-Italy, the deputy head of the commission on defense of the Italian Senate Sergio Divina and Senator Maria Rizotti spoke in the Senate on the topic of the Khojaly genocide, News.Az reports with reference to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

In their speech, they noted that Armenia has occupied 20% of Azerbaijani territory, ignoring UN resolutions and decisions of international organizations such as the OSCE, NATO, the EU and the Council of Europe, which call for the withdrawal of Armenian Armed Forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.

The senators stressed that the Armenian political and military leaders who responsible for crimes against humanity must be brought before the Hague tribunal.

S.Divina and M.Rizotti visited Azerbaijan in 2011. 

S.Divina also visited Azerbaijan in 2013 within the framework of the OSCE mission to monitor the presidential elections.
