Azerbaijan and Iran have agreed to cooperate in several areas, said Ali Rabiei, the Iranian minister of cooperatives, labor and social welfare.

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ali Hasanov, who heads the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, said a delegation led by Ali Rabiei had held a number of important meetings in the country.

Emphasizing the historical, religious and cultural ties between the two countries, Rabiei said Azerbaijan and Iran have strong relations and Azerbaijan is a fraternal and important partner for Iran.

"We have always supported Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. This position will continue in the future. Liberation of the occupied lands of Azerbaijan is also very important for us and we want the solution to this conflict as soon as possible,” the Iranian minister said.

Rabiei said that relations between the two countries have entered a new stage of development. He stressed the potential for further expanding cooperation in many areas between Azerbaijan and Iran.
