United Russia leads parliamentary election with nearly 58% of votes

Russia's ruling United Russia party has secured 57.86% of the vote in the State Duma parliamentary election after 90.43% of ballots were counted, according to Central Election Commission data.

The Communist Party (KPRF) followed in second place with 13.84%, while the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) secured 8.90%. The New People party stood at 7.94%, and A Just Russia hovered just below the 5% threshold at 4.95%.

Earlier preliminary results after 13.88% of protocols were processed had placed United Russia at 57.54%, Central Election Commission head Ella Pamfilova reported. Preliminary nationwide voter turnout exceeded 56%.
