Saudi Arabia has donated 5 tonnes of dates to Azerbaijan as a humanitarian gift marking the holy month of Ramadan.

The distribution ceremony was held at the residence of the Saudi Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Issam bin Saleh Al-Jutaili, who said the initiative was carried out under the supervision of the Kingdom’s Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

Most of the shipment will be handed over to the Caucasus Muslim Board, while the remainder will be distributed to those in need through official channels.

A further 25 tonnes of dates are expected to be sent to Azerbaijan under the patronage of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.
